Cranfield University began its life as in 1946 on an ex-Royal Air Force base focusing on Aeronautics and Aeronautical Engineering. A close relationship with the military has followed as the University has diversified into other academic areas including its world-renowned School of Management. Rated 37th in the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit, the MBA programme is one of the best in not just the UK but all of Europe with international students coming from all over the world to study at Cranfield.
Cranfield is rare in offering only postgraduate degrees and no undergraduate provision. As a result, it is rarely included in national rankings. With fewer than 5000 students, the student to staff ratio is one of the best in the UK. Students, however, should be aware that the location of Cranfield is rather remote despite being geographically close to London. Students must first head to Bedford or Milton Keynes before boarding a train to London - a process that will take more than 1hr 30min.
Appalling quality of teaching and disgraceful thesis supervision. The worst investment I have ever made.
