BU is strong in two areas in particular: Media & Tourism. The Media School has long-standing connections with UK media industry including the BBC, ITV and several others. The National Centre for Computer Animation (NCCA) meanwhile is considered one of the best animation schools in the world and its alumni have won awards including Oscars and BAFTAs for both animated films and special effects in blockbuster productions such as Gravity and Avatar. Meanwhile, the School of Tourism has been named the best in the UK in a number of publications including the Guardian's annual rankings guide.
